What is a Dental Crown?
Dental crowns, sometimes referred to as “caps”, cover teeth that have been damaged from decay, are worn down, or have broken or cracked in order to make the tooth stronger and restore the tooth’s shape.
Crowns serve two main purposes:
- To improve the cosmetics of your tooth
- To protect your tooth from further damage.
Crowns can be used to hold a dental bridge in place as well as cover a dental implant.
